My main project, funded by the Swedish Research Council, studies how ceasefire agreements shape the trajectory of violence in war zones. I am also co-investigator in a project that analyses why some conflicts escalate to brutal civil wars, while armed actors show more restraint in others.

I continue my work on an earlier project on conflict zones, analyzing the spatial patterns of violence in civil wars and creating spatial data on conflict zones. In a project that is largely completed I studied the impact of peace operations on postwar violence.
